Perils of Parenthood

cranky teenager boy
bemoaned with practiced nonchalance
that parenthood was
overrated
over appreciated
unnecessarily dignified
overtly emphasized
always victimified
but
severely underqualified
hardly taught
almost never corrected
admonished
or punished.

children, he said,
are merely punishment
for lapses in judgments
and for
disgusting, short
crimes of passion.

I agree.
